“About Oscar Kaung”

Born in Yangon in October 1990 and educated with MBA from James Cook University Australia and B.Sc. Business IT from Greenwich University of UK, Oscar has been in pursuit of his passion – Photography. 

Oscar, a published author in photography genre in Myanmar, shares basics to advanced photography tips and techniques about different shooting methods on his social media pages, Oscar Photography, which can be accessed on both Facebook and Instagram platforms. His first photography book was published in 2016, and he writes articles regularly for several photography magazines and journals in Myanmar and Singapore. Oscar’s passion is landscape photography. Oscar also specialized in people and travel photography with a style consisting of vibrant, colorful and energetic imagery. As a member of Myanmar Photographic Society, he plans photography tours for his photographer buddies occasionally. He is always looking forward to finding new places for photography tours.

His passion for photography started in the Year 2009 in Naypyitaw when he first held a camera in his hands and realized the wonders of the world to be captured through lens. Oscar’s pursuit of landscape imagery has taken him around Myanmar for over a decade, and the stunning pictures of Myanmar can be found on his social media pages. He has taken photographs of a few locations in Southeast Asia and he plans to explore further in the region to capture landscapes and cityscapes in dramatic light and discover new perspectives. Above all, he plans to live his passion and shares the knowledge he has obtained with those who love photography as much as he does. His favorite quote is “Photography helps people to be seen.”
